My wife would probably kill me if she knew I was telling this, but I need to save you guys from making the same mistake I did. I let her convince me for years that we needed to keep our cable subscription, not for the programs, but for the Internet connection!  Is that insane or what?

I tried to tell her that if we’d just get Dish Network, we could have all the great programming that Dish Network is famous for PLUS our Internet connection. But she’d have no part of it. I even sat down with her and showed her this great site I’d found (click on the link) and pointed out how easy they made it to order everything we wanted in one place. She wasn’t convinced. Man, that woman can be hard-headed!

I finally got to the point I’d had enough. I was sick of paying the over-inflated prices the cable company charges and they’d gone up three times since we first signed up. So one night while she was at her scrapbooking-gossip fest, I went back to that site I really liked and read through it carefully. I knew from having been there several times that these guys stay right on top of the latest promotions Dish Network has to offer.

It was an easy process from start to finish and when I was through I was really stoked about the choices I’d made, including Internet service. And hey, don’t worry if you live like, out in the boonies, Dish Network still has you covered. They have a partnership with Wildblue so that no one has to be without Internet service, no matter where you live.

I arranged to have everything connected the following week when I knew my wife was going to spend a couple of days with her sister.  I know, I should’ve just told her what I was going to do, but I learned a long time ago that it’s easier to beg forgiveness than to ask for permission. Besides, I knew she would love it if she’d just give it a chance.

When she came home all hell broke loose. She stormed around, yelling stuff about how we’re not ‘communicating’ anymore, and if I would go behind her back and order a satellite system, what else would I do behind her back and yada yada yada.  Somewhere in there I just quit listening. I was feeling pretty good about having Dish Network and I wasn’t about to let her yammering ruin it for me.

Well, smooth talker that I can be when the situation demands, I finally got her to calm down and sit still long enough for me to show her all the features that comes with Dish, including her precious Internet connection. God forbid she should lose all her digital scrapbook stuff.  Come to find out, that’s what had kept her from wanting to switch.  Bless her ditzy blondness, she was afraid if we changed Internet providers, somehow she would lose all the work she’d put into building her online scrapbooks. I wanted to laugh, but I didn’t dare.

Now, I’m not telling you to go behind anybody’s back to order your Internet connection from Dish Network. In fact, I strongly recommend against it. I am telling you that you need to get out from under the thumb of the cable company and you need to do it today. Going to this site (don’t forget, click on the link) is the best way to do that. You’ve got my word on it.
